Special women’s day workshop.

Women Design for Life

We conducted a special women’s day workshop for the women working in Pudiyador Organisation. The event was mainly inspired from Womens for Design concept followed by Womens for Design Life.

I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights

The theme for International Women’s Day (8 March) 2020
Around 1900, suffragettes( a woman seeking the right to vote through organized protest), gathered around for the right to equality. One such gathering was called Womens Day and by 1911, 8th march was celebrated as International Women’s day. Womens day still serves as a powerful platform globally for every woman to fight against gender parity and while celebrating the social, cultural, economic and political achievements of women.

LACK OF AWARENESS!

India has reached the peak of Success in the field of Technology and science, but there are some fields that still need more concentration and development. One such field in Design life for women. Women in rural areas have a long gap in living their own life and finding some time for themselves, there is always a lack of knowledge and awareness on the Design life. We at Chalkpiece wanted to enlighten them with some basic practices to enhance their way of living.

LACK OF AWARENESS!

Chalkpiece planned for a one day workshop for women working at Pudiyador Organisation. We wanted to inspire them with a few talks and conduct events to boost their confidence and help them understand how the design can enhance their life more

The ultimate goal of the event was to help women in rural areas design more fulfilling and coherent lives. We had talks on inspirational women, their lives and conducted various activities like Bucket list your wishes, Meditation game to express themselves, Productive time calculation to make them realize their one day activities and how much time they spend on each activity.
The last activity was about planning skills and new businesses in order to enhance themselves. All these were conducted to achieve mental health, skill development and receive professional guidance. We helped them to connect everything from their day to day activities and build a possibility to earn a little.

OUTCOME

The events helped the women to assess their roles, work on problems they have been facing, envision their potential future and also improved their decision making skills. The day was dedicated to change their way of thinking. At the end of the session we saw some bright feasible ideas and we would like to continue and inspire more such unidentified talents.
“An equal world is an enabled world. Individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day. We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender-equal world. Let’s all be #EachforEqual”
